Technology
Modularity for rapid on-site assembly
Aalo reactors strike the optimal balance between economies of numbers, and economies of scale. Costs are reduced through factory assembly of reactor modules. Construction time is reduced through simple on-site assembly. This reduces compounding interest that has inflated the cost of traditional nuclear, and makes timelines more predictable.
Metallic coolant and fuel unlocks optimal economics
Liquid metal is able to extract heat from the reactor core much faster than water or gas. This means Aalo reactors can produce up to 10x more energy than other nuclear technologies of a similar physical size.
Low pressure coolant enables simplified safety systems.
Aalo reactors use liquid metal (sodium) coolant at atmospheric pressure to simplify safety systems while optimizing economics. We focus on enabling co-location, so that a fleet of reactors can be placed on site and power a data center or industrial load with high uptime.
